Preconstruction Manager

GARNEY

A Preconstruction Manager position is available at Garney. In this position, you will ensure that the estimate includes the cost, time, materials, labor, and equipment required for the construction projects. You will also manage and plan projects through the design phase, including the tracking of documents and building a project plan. The Preconstruction Manager will work with their team to ensure efficient and continuous improvements in the estimating process. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• 
  
  Track labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs throughout project lifecycles
  
  


• 
  
  Assist with schedules, scopes of work, logistics plans, constructability reviews, and risk mitigation strategies
  
  


• 
  
  Prepare conceptual and detailed estimates, self-perform estimates, and cost models
  
  


• 
  
  Identify and pursue bidding opportunities that support annual gross margin goals
  
  


• 
  
  Manage bid documents and ensure timely estimate development and submission
  
  


• 
  
  Review estimates for accuracy and collaborate with teams to refine pricing strategies
  
  


• 
  
  Organize and lead estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and customer submissions
  
  


• 
  
  Support cost coding processes and provide training as needed
  
  


• 
  
  Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  
  


• 
  
  Participate in alternative delivery pursuits, including Design-Build, CMAR, and PDB projects
  
  


• 
  
  Assist with project selection, bid strategy development, and pursuit planning
  
  


• 
  
  Lead multiple estimates simultaneously while coordinating estimating team assignments and deliverables
  
  

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Experience with proposal types in various stages involving the design build, progressive design build, negotiated and CMAR projects


• Thorough understanding of bonds, insurance, burden, etc. and how they affect bids and company risk/profit


• Attention to detail


• Time management skills


• Experience using computer programs such as Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, and Google Earth Pro
