Pre-Op PACU/Triage RN

Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Obtains history and gathers triage information to determine appropriate avenue for care.

- Verifies patient insurance eligibility and identifies primary care physician.

- Relays triage information and facilitates communication between the provider and the patient

- Based on assessment, assists physician or APP to determine appropriate care

- Provides patient education relative to health care needs

- Provides telephone advice according to established guidelines and protocols.

- Develops telephone triage guidelines as needed.

The position would include: admitting patients into preop, obtaining consents, establishing IV, patient education regarding procedure and discharge instructions, and recovering a patient directly from surgery. You will work closely with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and other team members

Requirements

Required Skills:

-Travel between all AUUA locations primarily Litchfield Park, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sun City 

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

- Current, good standing, AZ Nursing License

- Current BLS and ACLS

- Minimum of 1 year of Perioperative experience

- Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette

- Excellent IV skills

- Ability to recognize and quickly adapt to change in a patient's condition

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees.

- all other tasks as assigned
