Prep Cook | Catalina Area | Full-Time AM

The pantry/prep cook’s primary function is to provide assistance to the cooks and chefs in the kitchen through preparation of food items for service. This may include following recipes to make salads and salad dressing; slicing, chopping or dicing food items; following previously developed recipes for hot or cold food items such as sandwiches, pizzas, etc. May work with burners, ovens, broilers/deep fryers, knives, slicers, and various other kitchen utensils/equipment. May clean various kitchen utensils, equipment, storage/pantry and other areas of the kitchen during shift. Performs other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take direction/follow instructions or recipes for preparation of various food items. This may include salad, soups, dressings, fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, poultry, etc.   
• These tasks will be accomplished using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Cleaning/sanitizing. May include washing utensils/equipment, storage areas, food labeling, etc. as directed of various kitchen supervisors.

• 3+ years experience in all areas of cooking and food preparation.
• Previous experience in a kitchen supervisory role is desirable.
• Food Handler’s Card
• Culinary Apprenticeship Training – ACF Certified Cook.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to show leadership when busy and maintain a level head when under pressure.
