Job Description - Prep Cook/Steward (Mon-Fri - No nights or weekends!)

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for preparing ingredients for food production according to recipes/directions for service
  • Follows production sheets, portioning and merchandising details as instructed by the Sous Chef/Junior Sous Chef
  • Tastes all food prepared for station to ensure flavor, freshness, and quality
  • Follows all recipes and guidelines while meeting production deadlines
  • Prepares and cleans a variety of fruits, vegetables, and proteins using knives and/or cutting machines
  • Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health, and Risk Management
  • Ensures consistent quality on all prepared items
  • Maintains a clean and organized station and prep area
  • Maintains kitchen equipment and checks daily for any ongoing issues, including equipment, cleanliness, etc., and reports to Cafe/Concept Chef
  • Follows proper rotation and storage of goods to prevent contamination and help ensure that food quality and wholesomeness are maintained
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a high-volume full-service kitchen is required
  • Food Handlers certification is required
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Determination to work safely
  • If hired, must be able to pass a work authorization check and background check
Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 an hour (Depending on Experience)
