Job Summary
Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School seeks a full-time History teacher to teach a combination of Advanced Seminar in Psychology and 10th-Grade Modern Global. This position is for the 25-26 School Year with a start date of August 21, 2025.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teach Advanced Seminar in Psychology and 10th-Grade Modern Global for four sections in total.
Develop a unique and challenging Advanced Psychology class.
Help prepare students for AP exam as needed.
Continued professional development emphasizing student-centered instructional practices that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and self-reflection.
Meet regularly with grade-level cohort to plan curriculum.
Provide meaningful, individualized student feedback and support.
Work closely with colleagues, department head, and prep school administration to support the academic, social, and emotional well being of all students.
Write well-written, thoughtful semester reports for each student.
Qualifications
M.A. in History or related discipline; minor or concentration in Psychology preferred.
Run well-managed, meaningful, and engaging classes.
Two years experience teaching at the high school level preferred.
Work Hours
7:45 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday
Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30 pm
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $71,000- $118,500 annually based on completed degree programs and years of experience. We also offer a warm and supportive culture as well as exceptional benefits including but not limited to:
