Position Overview The 3-Year-Old Preschool Long Term Substitute creates a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment that honors the developmental needs of young children while aligning with CCS’s mission, values, and pillars. The ideal candidate is a patient, creative, and organized educator who thrives on establishing consistent rituals and routines, fostering a love of learning, and cultivating social-emotional growth in each child.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and follow a curriculum that blends play, exploration, and discovery with CCS’s Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach.
Scaffold learning experiences in early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and motor skills for 3-year-olds.
Establish clear, predictable routines and rituals that provide a sense of security and help children build independence.
Incorporate CCS’s core values—empathy, integrity, community, optimism, and advocacy—into daily classroom life.
Nurture social-emotional learning by modeling positive interactions, guiding cooperation, and teaching conflict resolution.
Build strong partnerships with families through open, regular communication and by celebrating milestones together.
Collaborate with colleagues and Specials teachers to integrate cross-curricular and creative learning opportunities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that encourages exploration.
Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events to continuously grow as an educator.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (minimum required) in Early Childhood Education or related field
Experience teaching in early childhood settings, with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice
Knowledge of Google Suite and ability to use technology for communication and classroom management
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to consistent attendance, professionalism, and reflective practice
Current or willingness to obtain advanced first-aid training
