Our child-centered approach emphasizes social-emotional development, imagination, and hands-on experiences. We provide a supportive, respectful, and inclusive environment where children and educators learn together. Highlands Academy is located within the highly sought after corridor near Downtown Denver and has been an established early childhood center serving children Birth-5 years old for over 10 years! Our center is open year round with operation hours of 7:30AM-5:30PM.
Your Role:
As an Assistant Preschool Teacher, you’ll support lead teachers in creating a playful, safe, and engaging environment for children ages 2.5-3 years old. You’ll build positive relationships, foster independence, and encourage exploration through open-ended materials, nature, storytelling, music, movement, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing play-based, developmentally appropriate activities
- Supervise and engage with children during free play, group time, outdoor play, and routines
- Promote children's social and emotional development through modeling, guidance, and encouragement
- Assist with daily routines such as snack, diapering/toileting, and cleanup
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and nurturing classroom environment
- Communicate positively with children, families, and team members
Qualifications:
- Must hold at least a Level 2 credential in PDIS (completed ECE coursework or relevant degree)
- Experience working with young children (center, home, or informal setting)
- Warm, patient, and playful personality
- Passion for early childhood education and belief in the power of play
- Willingness to learn and collaborate as part of a team
- Must meet state licensing requirements (health clearances, etc.) and eligible to work in the United States

Salary Range: $35,136 - $44,896/year
This is a full time, full year position. Scheduled work hours are between 8:00-5:00 or 9:00-5:30. Our salary range is based upon education and experience.
