Preschool Cook & Driver to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting children's health, safety, and development by preparing nutritious meals and safely transporting children when needed. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, has strong communication skills, and maintains a positive, patient, and professional attitude. The Cook & Driver is responsible for preparing healthy, fresh, appealing meals and snacks, maintaining food program compliance, transporting children safely, and keeping accurate records. This position reports directly to the Center Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks that meet children's developmental and individual dietary needs.


• Maintain kitchen inventory and monitor food supplies.


• Communicate food ordering and supply needs with the Center Director.


• Follow CACFP guidelines and all food safety and sanitation regulations.


• Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.


• Promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and positive learning environment.


• Safely transport children to and from designated locations in accordance with company policies and California transportation regulations.


• Conduct routine vehicle safety inspections and report maintenance concerns to the Center Director.


• Assist children with entering and exiting the vehicle safely and ensure proper supervision during transportation.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.


• Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.


• Must meet company driving and insurance requirements.


• Comfortable transporting children and following all transportation safety procedures.


• Food Handler's Certificate preferred.


• Passionate about working with children from infancy through school age.


• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and children.


• Must successfully pass a DSS background check.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle and assist children during transportation activities.


• May be required to work occasional overtime and attend scheduled staff meetings outside regular hours.


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
