Job Description - Preschool Coordinator

Who We Are Looking For


The Preschool Coordinator will act as an operational leader and effectively ensure high standards of academic excellence in well-rounded and holistic language immersion. TNCS Preschool includes a Montessori-inspired full language immersion Preprimary program and a Montessori partial immersion Primary program. A paramount priority of this position is to lay a foundation that builds and inspires an inclusive community of lifelong learners. Through compassionate and courageous leadership and management, the Preschool Coordinator will promote the growth and sustainability of the program, cultivate a diverse community, and encourage students and families to continue their educational journey in the TNCS K-8 program. 



Responsibilities and Duties:


Faculty and Staff Management:



  • Manage, coach, and develop all Preschool staff to maximize their role as a teacher and facilitators of the world language immersion and Montessori programs



  • Train, mentor, observe and evaluate all Preschool personnel 



  • Plan and conduct meetings; promote and facilitate ongoing teacher and staff training



  • Attend professional conferences, seminars, and workshops in education and/or educational administration



  • Assist teachers with the preparation and execution of Parent/Teacher conferences 



  • Complete the OCC Director’s Course within the first 60 days of employment and serve as OCC Director



  • Manage, coordinate, and supervise faculty and staff schedules and attendance 


Program Implementation:



  • Develop and administer the preschool daily routine ensuring the daily operations of the Preschool meet all regulatory requirements and support the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the school



  • Oversee and guide the preschool curriculum, specifically focusing on the world language and Montessori components, ensuring that the curriculum the school offers is both intentional, future-focused and academically rigorous 



  • Expect and uphold a clear and consistent standard of student conduct aligned with the policies outlined in the family handbook 



  • In collaboration with the Director of Student Support, provide support, accommodations, and interventions as needed for any students’ behavior or academic progress



  • Evaluate rising kindergarten candidate's readiness to be promoted


MSDE/OCC Compliance:



  • Generate and maintain preschool records for MSDE and OCC; ensure all necessary paperwork is current, available, and in compliance at all times 



  • Track and monitor the completion of staff continuing education credits annually



  • Continually maintain current knowledge of issues and standards related to MSDE and OCC compliance


Community Building:



  • Maintain an educational philosophy and school atmosphere which encourages a cooperative and participatory attitude on the part of all teachers and students



  • Maintain effective communication using multiple platforms to keep the staff, students, and families properly informed of school events and activities in a timely manner



  • Utilize documentation procedures and enforce corresponding policies regarding communications with parents and/or staff regarding incidents involving students



  • Create and implement preschool-specific programming as part of TNCS’s Family Education Program that supports greater family engagement with the mission and vision of the school



  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners to support the Preschool program


Other:



  • Reports directly to the Head of School



  • Serves on the Admissions Committee



  • Attends and delivers reports at bi-weekly Leadership Team meetings



  • Embodies the Core Values, enthusiasm for learning, and global citizenship TNCS imparts to students


And other duties, as assigned



Qualifications:



  • Must have a Bachelor's Early Childhood or related field



  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a childcare facility or equivalent

  • Experience with or willingness to learn Montessori Philosophy

  • Proficiency in Mandarin or Spanish preferred



  • Advanced knowledge in early childhood education



  • Child Care Administrator License if applicable.



  • Strong leadership and administrative skills.



  • Love for children and passion for teaching.



  • Effective decision-maker
