Preschool Lead Teacher - Full Time w/ Benefits

Somerset Hills YMCA's Early Education Center provides a well rounded experience for children age 6 weeks to 5yrs. Our center staff work together to provide educational programming to ensure elementary school readiness while utilizing multiple exploratory activities throughout the day for an engaging, fun, and rewarding experience.

Somerset Hills YMCA is seeking a Lead Teacher in our Preschool classroom to execute a structured, engaging, and positive school day curriculum. Applicants should share in our commitment to nurture and support our children, promote youth development, and foster a sense of social responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Lead Teacher reports to the Director of Child Care and is responsible for daily classroom routines and a curriculum that prepares students to rise into Kindergarten. Elementary school readiness is our goal for each child in this program and the Lead Teacher will ensure that necessary skills are taught and learned. Child Care Staff should be prepared to learn and execute all health and safety standards as mandated by the NJ Department of Children and Families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Bachelor's Degree in Education, Teaching Certificate, or a combination of experience and formal education.
• Relevant child care experience ideally with infants, toddlers, or pre-school aged children.
• Positive and clear communication skills specifically in speaking with parents.
• Classroom management skills are needed. Must have the ability to plan and implement curriculum and manage the flow of the day.
• Must be independent and self sustaining. This classroom is yours to run as you see fit.

HOURS:
Center hours are from 7:30am - 6:00pm
This position will be scheduled from 7:15am - 3:15pm
Lunch Time: 0.50 Hour
