Preschool Teacher

Camp Curiosity & Curiosity Academy is located on a 50+ acre campus in Doylestown, PA, and has been family-owned and operated since 1965. Curiosity Academy offers Preschool - Kindergarten programs. 

At Curiosity Academy, our school’s mission is to provide high-quality educational opportunities to children while fostering each student’s positive intellectual, social, physical, and moral skills in an academically and developmentally rich classroom and outdoor learning environment. 

Curiosity Academy is looking for early childhood educators to join our team in our Preschool 3 year olds classroom. We believe every child has a natural curiosity and a desire to explore and learn about the world around them and we are looking for individuals who share these same values. 

The preschool teacher is responsible for monitoring children in their assigned class, preparing and teaching the provided curriculum, and working with our team to enhance the nurturing learning environment at Curiosity Academy. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

• Create, prepare, and facilitate creative learning activities that are fun and educational 
• Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons and student-led learning, free play, bathroom breaks, lunchtime and rest time for students 
• Collaborate with teachers and leadership to foster, enhance, and provide a nurturing learning environment  
• Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with students and parents 
• Deliver reports on student progress to leadership 
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom 
• Be flexible and fill in where needed

The pay rate range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00, depending on background and experience. Additionally, hired staff are eligible for discounted childcare services for school and summer camp.

• Early Childhood Experience, at least two years experience preferred
• High School Diploma 
• CDA (or childcare-related degree) preferred
• Ability to work with others in a team environment
• Ability to accomplish tasks with independence, motivation, and responsibility
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Ability to resolve conflicts and creatively solve problems
• Basic computer proficiency
• CPR and First Aid Certification (training provided)
• Fire and Water Safety Certification (training provided)
• Must be able to obtain Background Clearances, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearances, and Mandated Reporter Training
