Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a caring and dependable Preschool Teacher’s Assistant to support our Lead Teachers primarily during snack time, lunch time, and break time. If you’re passionate about early childhood education and enjoy working with young children, this is the position for you!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teacher with classroom management during snack, lunch, and teacher breaks.


• Provide excellent service to all students, families, co-workers, and school administration.


• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and engaging environment for children. 


• Support children in developing good hygiene habits and table manners.


• Provide supervision and ensure the safety of all children in your care.


• Communicate positively and effectively with the Lead Teacher and Director.


• Adhere to all policies and procedures both organizationally and departmentally to ensure the safety of children, parents, and staff.


• Model positive behavior and educate children in a manner which contributes to mature and responsible behavior.


• Complete all Discover After School and governmentally required training in the required time frame.

Qualifications:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma.


• Completion of 45 hours of DCF Child Care Training (Transcripts will be reviewed) 


• Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening & Drug Screening.


• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (Must be completed within 30 days of employment)


• Reliable transportation and ability to commute locally. 

Skills:

• Eagerness to learn.


• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills in English is required.


• Bilingual, with proficiency in both English and Spanish is a plus.


• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, patient, responsible, and dedicated to enhancing program performance and impact.


• Strong communication skills for interactions with children and administration.


• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for daily challenges.

Experience:

• Experience with Children: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour. Bi-Weekly Pay.

Schedule:

• Starting May 2025 (Apply today!)


• Monday - Friday
  


• Preschool Hours of Operation: 6:30AM - 6PM 


• 35-40 hours guaranteed per week

*All positions are part time with the possibility for full time hours*
