Press Break Operator

Primary Objective of the Position:  Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.

Major Areas of Accountability:   

• Operate press break machine and ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned. 
• Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches. 
• Use a CNC controller to input information into machine. 
• Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints. 
• Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments. 
• Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake. 
• Work with tight tolerances. 
• Produce parts for assembly operations. 
• Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications. 
• Perform spot inspections of parts. 
• Identify assembly parts. 
• Set up light gauge metal. 
• Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel). 
• Check machine for defects and report repair if necessary to maintenance for appropriate repairs.
• Read drawings and blueprints. 
• Ensures a safe work environment by following safety requirements and policies. 
• Performs other responsibilities and special projects as assigned

Qualified candidate requirements: 

· Ability to take direction, be a team player, and show up on time 

· Ability to utilize a variety of shop tools & machinery 

· Must be able to lift 75 pounds
