The Foreman is responsible for supervising field operations within Lewis Environmental’s four core service lines: Remediation, Waste Transportation, Industrial Maintenance, and Emergency Response. This role provides direct supervision and coordination of personnel, equipment, and fieldwork to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily field tasks performed by drivers, equipment operators, and field service technicians.
Review project work plans, safety protocols, and equipment requirements to ensure readiness and efficient execution.
Oversee emergency spill response efforts and support the Response Coordinator in coordinating emergency activities.
Maintain quality control and assurance throughout all phases of a project to ensure safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Maximize the use of Lewis-owned assets, including tools and equipment.
Ensure all assigned equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.
Complete all required documentation, including daily reports, time and material sheets, and ensure customer signatures are obtained.
Maintain and pursue appropriate certifications, including but not limited to: HAZWOPER, confined space entry, CDL endorsements, and tank handling certifications.
Safeguard sensitive and confidential information in accordance with company policy.
Enforce company policies and procedures, including standards of conduct and performance expectations.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper coordination of labor, equipment, and job-related materials.
Participate in project pre-walks with project managers, estimators, or sales team as needed.
Support monthly field meetings and other team communication efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned to support company operations and growth.
Minimum Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in a supervisory role in environmental contracting or a related industry.
Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record (subject to MVR check).
Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation as needed.
Strong commitment to safety, integrity, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred; willingness to obtain required certifications.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Must maintain clean shaven face
Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Ability to work in confined spaces and hazardous environments.
Must be able to wear and operate while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and perform manual labor for extended periods (50–70% of shift).
Tolerance for moderate noise levels and potential exposure to environmental hazards.
Ability to travel and work at various job sites across the region as needed.
