Preventative Maintenance Technician

Full-Time

Day Shift: approximate shift times of 7am to 5pm

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill a position as a Preventative Maintenance Technician for our Virginia SMA operations in Roanoke, VA.  This position will perform PM duties, along with routine maintenance and light repairs on a wide variety of aggregate/mining equipment. This role will work to service construction equipment across the Roanoke area.

Job Details:

• Wages starting at $18.00/hr. 
• Higher pay offered for experienced multi-craft maintenance professionals. 
• Overtime available 
• Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications:
 

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under company safety policies and practices.
• Must have a valid DOT health card or be able to obtain.
• Minimum of three years of experience working on equipment.
• Ability to change oil, change filters, take oil samples, complete sample documentation, and submit for analysis.
• Ability to plan maintenance in a coordinated method that doesn’t interfere with production schedule.
• Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
• Ability to climb and perform work at heights of 20 feet
• Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on mining and quarry equipment.
• Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
• Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
• Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
• Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
• Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
