Job Description - Prevention & Support Specialist

Job Title: Prevention & Support Specialist



Job Status: Full-time, non exempt



Job Location: Bryan College Station office



Job Summary: Unbound Now is a growing organization dedicated to ending human trafficking and supporting survivors. The Prevention & Support Specialist plays a vital role in advancing this mission by providing day-to-day administrative support and assisting with survivor advocacy administration.



The Prevention & Support Specialist is also responsible for facilitating prevention education and outreach programs for youth, with a focus on those at risk of trafficking. This includes weekly outreach at the local juvenile detention center, as well as education sessions at group homes and other youth-serving locations as opportunities arise. In addition, the Specialist will lead community and professional trainings to raise awareness, improve identification of at-risk individuals, and foster collaboration among stakeholders within the Brazos Valley.



Compensation: Annual salary



Benefits:  Unbound Now offers a generous benefits package including health insurance for employee and family with premiums covered by employer; employer-paid life insurance for employee; and the option to participate in Unbound Now's retirement plan (with 3% salary match after 90 days with a 1-year vesting period). Dental and Vision are available at employee expense.



Schedule/Availability: Generally Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; after-hours or weekends (including every other Saturday morning) as needed for prevention education and trainings. 40 hrs/wk unless overtime approved in advance.



Travel: This position may require limited travel for training and team/professional development opportunities.



Working conditions: Work performed in a normal office environment or other professional environment. Work duties may on rare occasions be performed in an environment requiring exposure to weather extremes, fumes, odors and noise.



Job Responsibilities:


General Administrative Support



  • Oversee general office operations, including facility maintenance, mail handling, and service requests.

  • Manage inventory and purchasing of office supplies to ensure consistent availability.

  • Maintain and update the office calendar; coordinate birthday celebrations, holiday events, and team-building activities.

  • Answer the main office phone and email account; screen and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.

  • Process and deposit incoming checks in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Review monthly BCS expense reports in Sage accounting software.

  • Prepare and submit in-kind donation forms as required.

  • Communicate with HQ to address account management needs.

  • Maintain accurate records of all office assets and IT equipment; perform asset tracking.


Youth Prevention 



  • Facilitate prevention-focused education and outreach with youth at risk for sexual exploitation at our local juvenile detention center (includes bi-weekly Saturday mornings)

  • Facilitate prevention-focused education and outreach with youth at risk for sexual exploitation at residential homes and other youth groups. (including Keeping Students Safe)

  • Alert supervisor when difficult situations arise 

  • Recognize red flag behavior and report to supervisor


Survivor Advocacy Program Support



  • Receive, sort, and organise donations to ensure accurate tracking and distribution.

  • Prepare and organize "go bags" for survivors, ensuring all necessary items are included and ready for distribution.

  • Assist with monthly reviews of documentation for completeness and compliance with program standards and regulations.

  • Update and maintain local office data on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate and current records are kept.

  • Send out calendar reminders for Praesidium training and other related events to ensure timely participation.

  • Maintain Time & Attendance (T&A) tracker sheets for interns and ensure accuracy and timely updates and getting them uploaded to IT to get signed. 


Outreach and Training 



  • Respond to training requests, coordinate scheduling, and serve as the administrative point of contact.

  • Prepare training materials, attendance sheets, and certificates for participants.

  • Conduct community and professional trainings 

  • Coordinate community engagement and outreach activities, logistics and staffing for resource tables, community events, and volunteer involvement. This includes managing and setting up resource tables. 

  • Perform post-training administrative duties, including maintaining records, managing follow-up communications, and submitting required documentation for continuing education credits and reporting.

  • Organize and update training materials, curricula, presentations, and data collection tools to ensure consistency.


Volunteer Coordination



  • Respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring volunteers are effectively introduced, trained, and engaged in their roles.

  • Manage volunteer opportunities and volunteer registration through the VOMO platform.

  • Maintain and manage the prayer calendar, ensuring volunteer schedules are updated and aligned.

  • Process background checks for volunteers to ensure safety and compliance.


Other



  • Participate in ongoing professional development. 

  • Use relevant organization software and applications in daily job performance. 

  • Participate in staff meetings and organization wide meetings. 

  • Submit expense documentation properly and within required timeframes 

  • Submit eligible mileage for reimbursement properly and within required timeframes.

Desired Outcomes:



  • BCS office and team well supported administratively

Experience and Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to engage youth in group settings 

  • Minimum of two years working with youth and diverse populations 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in high-speed, professional setting

  • Minimum 1 year in an administrative role

  • Relevant lived experience a plus


Job Requirements:



  • Mature Christian faith, as evidenced by participation in a local Christian church

  • Three references (supervisor, professional, personal)

  • Agree to and pass all required criminal background checks, including DFPS criminal history check and abuse and neglect registry check

  • Pass employment eligibility verification

  • Willingness to use personal vehicle for work travel; valid driver’s license; reliable vehicle; current car insurance

  • Abide by all Unbound Now policies and procedures at all times, including Unbound Now’s Abuse Prevention and Response Policy
