General Responsibilities

1. Provide home visiting services to families in designated areas.
2. Foster open, friendly relationships with families, encouraging involvement and promoting parent-child bonding.
3. Adhere to safe work practices, agency policies, and state/federal regulations.
4. Keep the Assistant Director informed and assist with family care coordination.
5. Recruit and complete referrals for various programs, maintaining active enrollment.
6. Serve as a positive role model, building trusting relationships with parents and healthcare providers.
7. Promote parental confidence, competence, and comfort during the transition to parenthood.
8. Educate parents on child development, health, and nutrition, integrating these into the home environment.
9. Support newborn care, feeding, and provide intrapartum doula support.
10. Be accessible to families 24/7 for labor support and attend healthcare appointments as needed.
11. Maintain up-to-date records, provide weekly visits, developmental screenings, and assist families in setting personal goals.
12. Attend staff meetings, workshops, and community recruitment events, maintaining confidentiality and supporting parent governance.
13. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

1. Bachelor's degree in human services, early childhood education, social work, health-related field, or LPN credentials.
2. Minimum of 18 hours of coursework in early childhood education, psychology, social work, health, or child development.
3. Preferably 1 year of experience working with pregnant teens/women, parenting teens, and low-income families.
4. Experience in home visiting with a strong background in prevention services for the 0-3 age group.
5. Certification and training in First Aid, CPR, Doula certification, and Infant/Toddler Development.
6. Knowledge of prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, maternal-infant health, and child abuse/neglect dynamics.
7. Personal vehicle for transportation.
8. Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
10. Strong verbal and written communication skills, background clearance, physical and TB test, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
