About the Role
As a Prevention Specialist, you will work directly with families who have been involved in abuse or neglect investigations or who have been identified as needing services. In this role, you will partner with the prevention department, engage families in their homes, and connect them with community services and interventions. Your goal will be to manage safety concerns, strengthen family stability, and support children in remaining safely in their homes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide families with referrals and linkages to community services and resources.
Assist families in following through with referrals and accessing necessary support.
Collaborate with other professionals, service providers, and community partners.
Conduct home-based meetings and follow-up visits as required.
Stay knowledgeable about available community resources to meet families’ needs.
Arrange or provide transportation for clients when necessary.
Maintain professional, respectful interactions with families and their support systems.
Document case information and communications accurately and in a timely manner.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Support safety plan monitoring and provide backup assistance to the prevention team.

Pay range-$50,000-$52,000
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience in social services, child welfare, case management, or a related field preferred.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to engage with families in their homes and connect them to appropriate resources.
Familiarity with community services and support systems is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of an associate’s degree in human services Field; two years direct experience in the delivery of services to families and children. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
