Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides primary care to patients within the clinic following accepted standards and protocols.

Position Summary Expanded:

Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act,(“The Unity Bill”) this position is considered a “Safety-sensitive position. “Safety-sensitive” is defined to include “any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.” Employees working in “safety-sensitive” roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation. 
• Select, order, perform and interpret tests, analyses and diagnostic images. 
• Analyze reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients. 
• Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury. 
• Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients. 
• Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes. 
• Provide compassionate and respectful patient care, take personal responsibility for appropriately coding and billing for care rendered. 
• Deliver exemplary care and act in a legal and ethical manner. 
• Maintain clinical productivity consistent with peers and industry standards for a similar setting. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Oklahoma medical licensure (MD/DO)
• Current D.E.A. and OBNDD
