Our adult residential treatment facility in Lake Balboa, California is seeking a compassionate and skilled Primary Therapist to provide high-quality mental health and substance use treatment. This is an onsite, in-person role serving adult clients in a structured residential setting.

About the Role

As a Primary Therapist, you will work with adult clients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. You’ll provide direct clinical care, coordinate treatment services, complete required documentation, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians looking to grow their skills in adult residential and behavioral health treatment.

What You’ll Do

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy to adult clients


• Develop and maintain treatment plans, assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries


• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support mental health stabilization and substance use recovery


• Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and external providers


• Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements, clinical standards, and documentation timelines


• Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to a collaborative, supportive clinical environment

Qualifications

• Associate or Licensed clinician required, ASW/LCSW or AMFT/LMFT


• One to two years of clinical experience, ideally in adult residential, substance use, or behavioral health treatment


• Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, crisis intervention, and treatment planning


• Experience working with adult clients with mental health and substance use disorders preferred
