Job Description - Primary Therapist

Credentials: AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.

Location: Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

A behavioral health organization providing residential care for adolescents is seeking a Primary Therapist to provide individual, family, and group therapy services for clients with mental health and substance use disorders. This position requires a strong clinical foundation, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

Master's degree or higher in a related field

Active California registration or licensure

Experience working with mental health and substance use disorder populations

Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy

Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of approximately 6 clients

Provide individual and family therapy sessions

Facilitate 3-5 clinical groups per week

Complete comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, and safety plans

Maintain regular communication with families, including contact within 48 hours of admission and weekly updates

Complete clinical documentation within 24 hours of service delivery

Participate in supervision, treatment team meetings, and utilization review

Participate in on-call rotation for new admissions and crisis response

Compensation: $76,000 - $100,000 yearly based on experience.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday or Wednesday - Sunday. Minimum 40 hours per week on-site and on-call rotation required.

Job Hours: 10:00AM-6:00PM OR 11:00AM-7:00PM (Candidate's choice)
