The Principal is responsible for ensuring that the school environment is safe for all students and staff members, and provides guidance and direction related to the daily activities and operations of each NBHS campus.
Relationship Building/Community Partnerships
Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community.
Collaborate with staff and community to develop a comprehensive plan for school improvement that aligns with the goals and objectives of the District.
Attend community service and outreach activities throughout the year.
Demonstrate that student learning is their top priority through effective leadership actions that build and support a learning organization focused on student success.
Maintain a social networking presence that markets the school and informs students and families.
Effectively communicate, orally and in writing, information and ideas to staff, students, and parents.

Organizational Leadership
Serve as the direct supervisor of Campus Director/Pilot Director, Emotional Wellness Counselor, ESE Facilitator, Testing Coordinator, and Principal Secretary.
Provide an efficient and effective management of human resources that includes delegating authority and responsibility clearly and appropriately in accomplishing organizational goals.
Model, coach, supervise, and evaluate performance of direct reports.
Demonstrate sound business management through allocating funds, supplies, materials and equipment in a meaningful and fiscally responsible manner.
Assist campus leadership with the development and management of their own programs of innovation.
Organize and direct a periodic evaluation of the total school programs and monitor implementation of critical initiatives.
Analyze, interpret, and utilize data in planning.
Use school SIS systems’ reporting to identify targets and deficiencies to develop customer educational plans.
Work collaboratively to develop and implement an instructional framework that aligns curriculum with state standards, effective instructional practices, student learning needs, and assessments.
Recruit, retain, and develop an effective and diverse faculty and staff.
Secure and provide timely feedback to teachers and staff.
Provide structure for and monitoring of a school learning environment that improves student learning.
Employ and monitor a decision-making process that is based on vision, mission, and improvement priorities using facts and data.
Manage the decision making process and distribute leadership when appropriate.
Cultivate, support, and develop other members of leadership in ways that positively impact and inspire growth.
Manage and delegate tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
Establish procedures that encourage student behavior consistent with school goals.
Use appropriate oral, written, and electronic communication and collaboration skills.
Manage and implement testing procedures for hybrid, home school, partner districts, FLVS and part-time students as required
Instructional Leadership
Coordinate and participate in professional development activities that support school improvement initiatives.
Work in cooperation with teachers in the development and planning of programs within the scope of assignment.
Lead professional development sessions.
Build annual professional development calendar.
Direct and/or conduct surveys to determine the training and educational professional development needs of the staff.
Interface with Executive Directors from all school levels to ensure the educational programs support and align with District goals and policies.
Stay informed on current research in education.
Engage in professional development opportunities that improve personal professional practice and align with the organizational needs and system-wide strategic objectives.
Assist faculty in the acquisition, development, and utilization of instructional resources
Professional Ethical Behavior
Assume administrative responsibility for all records and required internal and external State and District requested reports.
Manage the organization in ways that maximize the use of resources to promote a safe, efficient, legal, and effective learning environment.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of all reports and records for teacher education.
Implement and adhere to State Board Rules, and district policies and procedures.
Provide excellent customer service.
General
Support school Mission by assisting with home visits.
Conduct annual review and propose appropriate updates to the Principal Reference & Procedures Manual.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
A minimum of 3 years of educational leadership/administration experience
Valid Florida Educator's Certificate
Considerable experience of applicable computer software and hardware process applications such as spreadsheets, word-processing, database and operating systems, and presentation/virtual meeting platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Background check and fingerprinting clearance
Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment
Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation, and valid automobile insurance

Physical Environment
Requires working indoors or remotely in an environmentally controlled office setting. Requires sitting for the majority of the day. Generally, the job requires 40% sitting, 20% walking and 40% standing. Hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to read, prepare, and proofread documents; sitting for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting light objects. The ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 50 pounds. This position serves multiple locations and requires travel.
