Principal Agile Developer Database Engineering - Fully Cleared

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most: 

As an Agile Developer on our team, you’ll wear multiple hats—part database engineer, part problem solver, and part agile collaborator.

Here's what your day might include: 

• Managing Oracle databases with daily DBA responsibilities such as storage monitoring, performance tuning, and RMAN backup verification 

• Ensuring Oracle Data Guard standby databases are running efficiently with minimal lag 

• Participating in data migration strategies between development, test, and production environments 

• Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues across Oracle database platforms 

• Translating business and system requirements into optimized database schemas 

• Developing and maintaining data models using PowerDesigner 

• Supporting architectural decisions and making trade-offs around data volumes, performance, scalability, and access control 

• Monitoring environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and creating system alerts 

• Participating in agile ceremonies and using tools like JIRA and Confluence for sprint planning, documentation, and collaboration 

• Providing on-call support for one week every 3–5 weeks after initial onboarding 

Qualifications: 

• Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph   

• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen  

Required Experience & Education: 

• Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Database Engineer (DBE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity 

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university 

• An additional five (5) years of DBE experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree 

Required Skills: 

• Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration 

• Proficient with Linux, SQL, and scripting languages 

• Familiar with Agile development environments and comfortable working in JIRA and Confluence 

• Willingness to support on-call rotations (1 week every 3–5 weeks) after ramp-up 

Desired Skills: 

• Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, and RMAN backups 

• Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 

• Skilled in data modeling and schema design using tools like PowerDesigner 

• Ability to design complex database structures aligned with enterprise-level architecture and performance needs 

• Familiarity with Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and modern data storage/retrieval strategies 

Compensation Range: $193,000.00 - $255,000.00 

*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
