The team bridges advanced AI capabilities with practical validation engineering to enable data\u2011driven decision\u2011making, accelerate validation cycles, and maintain high product quality at scale.\n\nWe are seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer to join the ViSTA AI/ML team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions that transform firmware and hardware validation. You will work at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and test engineering to build intelligent systems that predict failures, automate analysis, optimize test coverage, and improve validation efficiency across Micron platforms.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nValidation Intelligence \u0026 Analytics\n\n * Develop ML models for automated root cause analysis of validation and test failures\n\n * Build predictive analytics for failure forecasting and risk identification\n\n * Design pattern\u2011recognition algorithms to identify failure signatures in historical data\n\n * Create validation intelligence dashboards that support data\u2011driven engineering decisions\n\n\n\n\nTest Optimization\n\n * Implement AI\u2011driven test selection and prioritization based on code change risk\n\n * Develop systems to identify test coverage gaps and redundancies\n\n * Build optimization engines that reduce test runtime while preserving confidence\n\n\n\n\nAutomation \u0026 Infrastructure\n\n * Develop AI\u2011powered test generation from requirements and code changes\n\n * Build adaptive and self\u2011healing test execution systems using historical performance data\n\n * Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into validation workflows to improve efficiency\n\n\n\n\nCross\u2011Functional Collaboration\n\n * Partner with firmware, hardware, and system architecture teams to define validation needs\n\n * Translate validation domain expertise into ML features with validation engineers\n\n * Collaborate with platform teams to deploy and scale AI/ML solutions\n\n * Drive AI adoption across validation teams through tooling, guidance, and enablement\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n * 8+ years of industry experience with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in\n\nComputer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field\n\n * 7+ years of software development experience, primarily using Python\n\n * Strong foundation in machine learning fundamentals, including model evaluation and feature engineering\n\n * Hands\u2011on experience with ML frameworks such as scikit\u2011learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch\n\n * Experience deploying and maintaining ML models in production environments\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Master\u0027s degree with focus on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Science\n\n * Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering\n\n * Familiarity with MLOps pipelines, model monitoring, and CI/CD practices\n\n * Experience applying NLP techniques to logs, test data, or technical documentation\n\n * Background in semiconductor, storage, firmware, or hardware validation domains\n\n * Experience building predictive failure or reliability analytics systems\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nProduct Development Engineer 5 - Product Development Engineer 5\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
