This role is responsible for developing and delivering category strategies that optimize cost, supply continuity, and quality through supplier benchmarking, market intelligence, and strategic sourcing initiatives.\n\nYou will lead supplier negotiations, drive cost-saving initiatives, and partner cross-functionally to ensure suppliers meet business, operational, and corporate responsibility requirements. This position plays a key role in representing supplier insights to the business while reinforcing company priorities and standards across the supply base.\n\n## \n\n## \n\n## Responsibilities:\n\n### \n\n### Category Strategy \u0026 Strategic Projects\n\n * Partner with internal customers to build a comprehensive view of supplier performance supporting long-term sourcing success\n\n * Develop and implement category strategies, including cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and contract negotiations\n\n * Lead and participate in category-related projects aligned with business objectives\n\n * Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to achieve category strategy goals\n\n\n\n\n### \n\n### Regional Supplier Relationship Management\n\n * Act as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers and contractors\n\n * Conduct commercial supplier qualification and development activities\n\n * Develop collaborative supplier relationships while proactively resolving performance and capability issues\n\n * Ensure supplier compliance with company code-of-conduct and corporate social responsibility requirements\n\n * Communicate supplier performance, risks, and key decisions to customers, including senior and executive leadership\n\n * Engage senior management as needed to reinforce supplier dedication and accountability\n\n * Serve as the voice of the supply base internally and represent company priorities externally\n\n\n\n\n### \n\n### Supplier Cost Optimization \u0026 Market Intelligence\n\n * Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal-setting activities\n\n * Provide regular market intelligence, pricing trends, and benchmarking insights to internal customers\n\n * Develop and apply should-cost models aligned with global market conditions\n\n * Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned categories, sharing insights to support planning, forecasting, and execution\n\n\n\n\n### \n\n### Supplier Negotiations \u0026 Contract Management\n\n * Lead or support negotiations for pricing, contract extensions, renewals, and scope changes\n\n * Coordinate with Category Sourcing Managers as applicable or lead RFQs and sourcing events\n\n * Incorporate savings targets, risk mitigation, and contractual requirements into negotiations\n\n * Develop and implement contract strategies, including creation, negotiation, enforcement, and performance monitoring\n\n\n\n\n### \n\n### Supplier Performance Management\n\n * Partner with customers to align supplier performance expectations and site-specific priorities\n\n * Own and manage strategic supplier relationships within assigned categories\n\n * Define, track, and drive performance metrics to ensure continuous supplier improvement\n\n * Lead strategic supplier engagements, including Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings\n\n\n\n\n## \n\n## \n\n## Minimum Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field\n\n * 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following:\n\n * Construction Project Management\n\n * Procurement or Purchasing in Construction\n\n * Quantity Surveying or Estimating\n\n * Contractor or Subcontractor Management\n\n * Engineering (CSA, Electrical, Mechanical, Process) with construction experience\n\n * Demonstrated experience evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring sourcing decisions that balance efficiency with high quality\n\n\n\n\n## \n\n## \n\n## Preferred Qualifications:\n\n * Professional certification: APICS, PMI, CPM, CPSM, EIT, PE, or similar\n\n * Strong background in construction procurement, estimating, and quantity surveying\n\n * Expertise in construction costs, commercial contracts, and project budgeting\n\n * Experience with:\n\n * Cost planning and lifecycle costing\n\n * Value engineering and value management\n\n * Project procurement strategies and tendering\n\n * Contract administration and compliance\n\n * Cost control, financial management, and claims analysis\n\n * Dispute resolution and risk management\n\n * Proven negotiation expertise, including tender preparation, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and final settlement\n\n * Ability to manage cross-functional teams, influence customers, and drive sourcing decisions across complex projects\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nBuyer 5\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
