As a Principal Cloud Developer, you will play a key role in shaping the virtualization stack that powers hybrid cloud solutions for major enterprises. Your contributions will go beyond managing VMs, as you will work on scaling, optimizing, and evolving the platform itself. This role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure that our virtualization software continues to meet the demands of global enterprise environments, while you also drive innovation through your expert knowledge in virtualization technologies.
Accountabilities
- Develop virtualization infrastructure software.
- Design, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot software systems.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering leadership on competitive roadmaps.
- Assist in resolving customer issues, providing root cause analysis insights.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technology changes.
- Work with sales and operational teams to understand and recommend solutions.
- Mentor junior engineering talent and represent engineering teams in technical forums.
Requirements
- Expertise in virtualization or container technologies (KVM, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deep knowledge of Java, Groovy, and/or other object-oriented languages.
- Experience in developing for compute, storage, or networking products.
- Proficient in Linux kernel/OS environments.
- Familiarity with storage infrastructure technologies (Ceph, NFS, iSCSI).
- Hands-on experience with advanced virtualization topics (live migration, snapshots).
- Strong understanding of virtual networking (VLANs, Open vSwitch).
- Knowledge of security technologies (TPMs, SELinux, encryption).
- Familiarity with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication skills for product presentations and negotiations.
- Ability to thrive in an Agile software development lifecycle.
- Capable of high standards of software quality.
