This role is a key technical leadership position within the HBM design team, responsible for driving complex digital designs from architecture definition through silicon validation and production. \nThe ideal candidate combines deep hands-on digital build expertise, system-level understanding of HBM architectures, and technical leadership across multi-functional teams, including architecture, verification, physical development, signal integrity, and product engineering.\n\nResponsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\n\n * Lead digital architecture and micro\u2011architecture definition for HBM subsystems, including memory controllers, PHY interfaces, command/address logic, scheduling, ECC, and reliability features.\n\n * Drive architectural tradeoffs across performance, power, area, and reliability (PPA) for advanced HBM generations.\n\n * Provide technical direction and design reviews for complex RTL and system-level implementations.\n\n * Own and implement high-quality RTL (SystemVerilog) for critical HBM digital blocks.\n\n * Ensure robust clocking, reset, low\u2011power, and DFT-ready design practices.\n\n * Collaborate closely with physical design teams to ensure timing closure, CDC robustness, and power intent alignment.\n\n * Support pre-silicon validation, emulation, and post-silicon debug and bring\u2011up.\n\n * Analyze silicon results and drive corrective actions across design revisions.\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.\n\n * 10+ years of experience in digital IC design, with significant experience in memory or high-speed interface designs.\n\n\n\n\nStrong expertise in:\n\n * SystemVerilog RTL design\n\n * HBM, DDR, or other high-performance memory architectures\n\n * Clock\u2011domain crossing (CDC), reset strategies, and low\u2011power design\n\n * Static timing analysis concepts and timing-aware RTL design\n\n\n\n * Proven experience leading complex blocks or subsystems through successful silicon.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Direct experience with HBM2 / HBM2E / HBM3 or later architectures.\n\n\n\n\nFamiliarity with:\n\n * Memory controller scheduling algorithms\n\n * ECC, RAS, and reliability features\n\n * Power management and DVFS in memory subsystems\n\n\n\n * Experience with pre-silicon validation platforms (FPGA, emulation).\n\n * Strong debugging skills across RTL, gate\u2011level, and silicon.\n\n * Prior experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical lead.\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nSemiconductor Design Engineer 5\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
