About the Team
The Product Infrastructure Engineering group at Rubrik is responsible for designing and building the core platform infrastructure that underpins Rubrik’s products. This includes foundational components such as distributed storage, networking, clustering, operating systems, modern containerized platforms, and cloud platform infrastructure. About the Role
We’re seeking a technical lead and architect to help define and drive the technical strategy for the core platform and product infrastructure of Rubrik’s product stack. This role is for engineers who are “problem seekers” - those who not only solve challenging problems, but can see around corners, anticipate future needs, and influence the organization to turn opportunities into durable solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape foundational technical direction across multiple teams, set standards for how we build scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems, and guide the evolution of services critical to Rubrik’s business. You’ll work closely with technical leaders, product managers, and stakeholders from across the company, while also mentoring and uplifting fellow engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Define and drive architecture and technology vision for distributed systems across Rubrik’s core platform
Identify technical challenges and opportunities that span multiple products or teams, creating clear strategies and plans
Lead design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure and platform services
Guide teams through complex problem spaces and collaborate with other groups to ensure alignment with business and product goals
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in customer environments
Set and evolve technical standards and best practices around quality, performance, reliability, and operational excellence
Mentor and coach senior engineers and technical leads across the organization
Qualifications
15+ years of experience building and architecting large-scale distributed systems
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
Expertise in languages such as Go, C++, Java, and Python
- Hands-on experience with at least one modern cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Deep foundations in distributed systems, networking, storage, kernel, and operating systems
Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining high-performance, reliable, and secure platforms
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with proven experience influencing technical direction across teams
Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of learning and growth
Experience working with open source software is a plus
