Principal Engineer, Materials

This role will be located at our Loveland, Ohio facility.     The Principal Engineer, Materials responsibilities include the following:  Propulsion system & module-based material application engineering ownership Manufacturing & design Integrated product team engagement Drawing review & sign off Specification and specification process co-ownership Material development technical leadership & project management partnership Materials related outside supplier partnership (Heat Treatment) Provide design guidance for select materials Technical mentorship for the team Main Qualifications: Master’s degree in physics, metallurgy, materials, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience  5-8 years of hands-on gas turbine experience  Deep hands-on experience with characterizing machines, materials, and process  Ability to translate theory to requirements and executional examples in a rapid innovation cycle.    Preferred Qualifications:  PHD in physics, Metallurgy or Materials Engineering  8-10 years of hands-on gas turbine experience Deep hands-on experience with characterizing machines, materials, and process  Ability to translate theory to requirements and executional examples in a rapid innovation cycle.     3-5 years of project management expertise Working knowledge of other AM modalities ie LPBF, DED, BJET.  Working knowledge of gas turbine design & analysis with a focus on materials and/or lifing of components Interpersonal Skills:  Roll up sleeve attitude with a methodical and systematic approach  Teamwork centric with strong oral and writing communication skills  Interest in lab work and lab environment  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity  Passion for additive manufacturing and materials engineering     If this sounds like you, please submit an application with your resume.
