About the Role
As a Principal Engineer - Semiconductor at Watlow, you will play a vital role in the development and redesign of Aluminum Nitride pedestal solutions for our world leading semiconductor customers. This dynamic role is not just about engineering; it's about building relationships, identifying opportunities for product redesigns and upgrades, product and process development, ensuring functionality, and coordinating with other functions to meet our customers' challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Ceramic Bonding:
Developing new technology by creating scalable processes of ceramic to metal bonding at high temperature.
Product Opportunity Discovery:
Collaborate with teams to identify product improvement opportunities.
Process Discovery:
Partner with our manufacturing teams to ensure that the final product can be built to the highest quality standards and delivered on time.
Product Test Plans:
Develop and perform product test plans to validate pedestal functionality.
Technical Documentation:
Generate / review comprehensive technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and design specifications.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay at the forefront of technology by actively researching and incorporating the latest advancements in hardware development.
Relationship Building:
Develop and nurture strong relationships with key customers both internal and external.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree in field of specialization, master's or PhD
10 years of experience related to mechanical and material sciences.
Experience with team leadership and development of a small team of
