This high visibility team is part of the Controller\u0027s organization and is responsible for leading the quarterly SEC Financial Reporting process as well as the maintenance of the Company\u0027s Financial Consolidation reporting system.\n\nThe Principal Financial Analyst of SEC Reporting will report to the Manager of SEC Reporting. This position will require sitting onsite in Falls Church, Virginia.\n\n \nEXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS include the following:\n\n * Prepare information used for external reporting (Earnings Release, 10-Q, 10-K), including the preparation of XBRL tagging\n\n * Collaborate with sector financial reporting teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of the financial close process\n\n * Support manager(s) with ad hoc requests, including opportunities for cross functional collaboration within the organization\n\n * Provide financial accounting support for acquisitions, divestitures, and realignments, as assigned.\n\n * Monitor existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements, assessing the applicability to Northrop \nPrepare and submit certain quarterly and annual census reports and surveys\n\n\n\n\nThe ideal candidate will possess:\n\n * Working knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and U.S. generally accepted accounting principles\n\n * Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and diction\n\n * Strong research and analysis skills; able to clearly and concisely summarize impact of SEC reporting or financial accounting requirements on Northrop\n\n\n\n\nKey Attributes Include:\n\n * Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment\n\n * Detail oriented; delivers timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditions\n\n * Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities at any given point in time\n\n * Collaborative; team player\n\n * Analytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and cumulative experience\n\n * High-level of integrity to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality\n\n * Be an active and agile learner; able to enhance personal, professional, and business growth through new knowledge and experiences; able to readily apply past experiences to new situations to generate solutions to organization challenges. \n\n\n\n\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting or finance with 5 years of relevant work experience\n\n * Master\u2019s degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience, master\u2019s degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience\n\n * Public Accounting experience IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience\n\n\n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Certified public accountant\n\n * Public accounting, reporting, and/ or auditing experience\n\n * Prior experience in the aerospace \u0026 defense industry\n\n * Prior experience with financial close and consolidation software such as Hyperion Financial Management\n\n * Prior experience with Workiva and/or XBRL\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
