Principal, Pharmaceutical Consulting Insights & Analytics

Herspiegel Consulting is a management consulting firm focusing on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Our Adivo Associates unit is hiring a Principal to guide our Hamburg office to further growth and excellence. Our organization helps clients build successful brands from preclinical phases through launch and to formulate and implement brand-specific strategies and programs for in-line brands. Services include brand strategy, market assessment; brand positioning, launch planning, lifecycle management, thought leader identification and engagement, and identification/development of marketing programs and sales force training/communication.

We are currently recruiting Principals to join our practice in Hamburg, DE 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

· Client and Business Development

o Active membership on senior management team, contributing to German business development, engagement management, 

o Play a key role in building the company by developing and leading broad based initiatives

o Actively building and managing a substantial network of client contacts

o Ability to find and close new and follow-on business opportunities

o Commitment to building and managing client relationships with awareness of industry trends to identify new business opportunities

o Ability to gauge and exceed clients’ expectations

o Represent Herspiegel Consulting in industry/marketing events (e.g. conferences, trade shows etc.)

· People and Relationship Management

o Lead by example, acting with highest level of integrity and motivating people toward preserving the client’s interest while achieving business goals

o Facilitate a work climate in which team members are encouraged to learn and to continue to develop their skills

o Being able to work effectively within different organizational structures and to interact with people at all levels of the firm and client

o Provide mentorship and coaching to both, junior and senior consulting staff

· Delivery Capabilities and Industry Know How

o Externally (and internally) recognized as a subject matter expert able to transform industry trends and client needs into business opportunities

o Analytical experience and preference for experience in Specialty Pharma and Rare diseases

o Consistently demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills, particularly with brand strategy

o Ability to lead and to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously, including allocation of internal resources to ensure that the client projects are delivered on time and within budget

o Provide leadership and motivating teams to deliver beyond client expectations resulting in follow-on opportunities

o Engage the team’s skills and ideas to ensure the development of creative solutions to complex problems

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

· Broad understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with strong knowledge of marketing, product promotion and placement, new product development, market research and sales

· Strong understanding of management consulting operations, processes, engagement planning and training

· Development of commercial strategy, launch plans, line extensions and lifecycle management

· Product positioning and segmentation

Education and Experience:

· Prior management consulting experience, with a minimum of 2 years leading project teams at the Manager/ Senior Manager/ Project Manager level and 6+ years of experience within management consulting (preferably at a top-tier firm)

· Bilingual German-English, 3rd language preferred.

· Proven track record of business development/engagement selling acumen with both existing and new clients

· Ability to consistently demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly within brand strategy

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint

· Strong work ethic, organization and planning skills, detail orientation and personal initiative
