What you will do
The ideal candidate will lead regional and global projects for Aveeno Skincare products and will be directly responsible for new product formulation development incorporating consumer insights from multiple channels. The Principal Scientist, will have End to End responsibility for product development and franchise strategy for Aveeno Face Care products including moisturizers and cleansers and technology innovations and life cycle management. Strong scientific technical skills and communication skills together with the ability to manage complexity are must-have prerequisites. The candidate will provide strategic and operational skills in the execution of regional and global projects, including analyzing new consumer insights to build a strategic innovation pipeline. Responsibilities will also include people leadership and development of more junior scientists.

The Principal Scientist, will be accountable for the design and execution of both global and regional projects linked to global strategy, which includes defining scope, staying within budget/OOP targets and problem resolution methods with demonstrated rigor and deep organizational knowledge. He/She will ensure global projects are developed to meet regional needs following the Global Product Development Operating Model, hands on leadership of end-to-end product development and deployment, and lead cross functional technical and project teams.

He/She will operate and lead independently of technical direction and execute projects and analysis with hands-on involvement.Ability to manage routine processes and complexity, risk-taking and decision making are critical components of the role in providing guidance and solutions to technical problems

Qualifications
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is required (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or Cosmetic Chemistry/Science is preferred), with a minimum of nine years of related experience (academic or industry), or a Master’s or PhD Degree with a minimum of four years of related experience (academic or industry).
Experience with formulation is required.
Cosmetics, OTC or pharmaceutical experience is required.
Fluent written and oral English communication skills are required.
