Principal Software Engineer - Application Development .NET and JavaScript/TypeScript | Hybrid - 1 day | Secaucus, NJ

We are looking to hire a candidate with the mentioned skill sets and experience for one of our clients within the transportation/finance Industry.  This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with expectations of becoming a full-time employee. This is a HYBRID role in Secaucus, NJ. (1 day per week)

The ideal candidate will:

• Work Authorization: Only U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders will be considered.


• Be available to work from the Secaucus, NJ office at least 1 day per week (Wednesday) or as requested. This is subject to change and likely to be more frequent at the start of the assignment as needed.


• Pass background check requirements.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer/Architect to architect, design, and lead the development of core software platforms and enterprise applications. This role will provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle while driving cloud-native architecture, modernization initiatives, AI/GenAI adoption, and engineering best practices across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and develop scalable, reliable software platforms and applications


• Provide technical leadership throughout the SDLC


• Drive software engineering best practices, coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and security


• Design and implement AI/GenAI solutions and AI-powered applications


• Work with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to deliver technical solutions


• Solve complex challenges involving architecture, integrations, performance, and data processing


• Remain hands-on with development, code reviews, troubleshooting, and implementation


• Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and design specifications


• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing


• Drive continuous improvement in software quality, reliability, and developer productivity
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of software development experience


• Strong C#/.NET and JavaScript/TypeScript


• Experience with APIs, Node.js, backend services, and scalable web applications


• Strong Azure and/or AWS cloud experience


• Experience with Docker, microservices, and cloud-native applications


• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, event-driven systems, DDD, and API-first design


• Hands-on AI/GenAI/LLM integration and AI-powered development


• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases


• .NET modernization and cloud migration experience


• Understanding of security, networking, hybrid cloud, and system integrations


• Strong Agile experience


• Proven technical leadership, architecture, mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration


• Kubernetes/DevOps is a plus, not a primary requirement
  
  

Other Job Details:

• Duration: 6+ Month Contract-to-Hire (Opportunity to convert to a full-time employee based on performance)


• Pay Rate: $80/hr. on C2C. or $70/hr. on W2. (Negotiable)
