Principal Software Engineer (CAM Studio)

Today, we are a global team of nearly 7,000 and our main objective is to create opportunities for our team members to explore, learn, and grow \u2013 all while seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating the differences that make us who we are and the work we do possible. \n\nHybrid-Boston (2-3 days a week) \n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Develop microservice capabilities to meet business requirements. \n * Architect future solutions and choose technologies \n * Work in an Agile environment \n * Build core microservices on Kubernetes using modern languages \n * Collaborate with the team to take advantage of new concepts/technologies \n * Contribute to our technical direction and standards with engineers on the team \n\n\n\nSkills and Knowledge\n\n * Good understanding of microservices and modern design patterns \n * Comfortable developing with cloud technologies \n * Experience with modern programming languages \n * Experience designing and building scalable and resilient SaaS services \n * Demonstrated technical leadership to contribute to various projects and multiple teams \n * A passion for writing clean, testable, and scalable code \n * Knowledge of POST Processor development for standard/custom CNC controllers\n * Knowledge of .NET framework and C#\n\n\n\nExperience:\n\n * Experience in CAD/CAM software product development with an emphasis on Toolpath/Simulation/Verification\n * Good knowledge of 3D math and 3D computational geometry\n * Basic knowledge of 3D geometry modeling libraries such as Parasolid/ACIS\n * Experience designing \u0026 implementing RESTful APIs \n * Experience building microservices or SOA \n * Experience building and running highly scalable services in production environments \n * Experience with full-stack development\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent \n * 6+ years of experience in programming and software engineering \n * Ability to commute to Boston Seaport office 2-3 days a week.\n * US Citizen or GC holder requirement due to ITAR specifications. \n\n\n\nPTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $134,000-190,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate\u0027s skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
