Role Overview
An organization supporting Intelligence Community missions is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (MBSE) to provide enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support. The selected candidate will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering practices to define system architectures, manage interfaces, and ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements to technical solutions.
This role supports complex, mission-critical systems and involves developing and maintaining system models, performing computer-based simulations, and collaborating closely with government, military, SETA, and contractor stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to support system architecture definition, integration, and analysis
Develop, maintain, and analyze SysML-based system models using Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent tools
Ensure requirements traceability from customer needs through system design and verification artifacts
Utilize digital engineering tool chains to enhance design, integration, and test workflows
Conduct computer-based simulations to analyze and optimize system performance
Support interface definition and management across system elements and external dependencies
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Government, Military, SETA, and contractor teams
Contribute to technical reviews, impact assessments, and engineering documentation
Support project planning, execution, and risk management activities across program lifecycles
Required Qualifications
Practical experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles
Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent MBSE tools
Familiarity with Digital Engineering practices and integrated tool chains
Experience using high-level programming languages (e.g., Python)
Demonstrated engineering technical depth and project management experience
Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary, customer-facing environments
Active and transferable TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (required prior to start date)
U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Qualifications
Experience with systems installation, integration, and test activities
Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages
Experience conducting Request for Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessments
Familiarity with NSIS requirements and rapid delivery methodologies
Evidence of strong customer relationships and stakeholder engagement
Experience working across multiple contracts and geographic locations
Proficiency with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative engineering tools
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
