Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman\u2019s Space Sector is seeking a Principal/Quality Engineer \u2013 Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Chandler, AZ. This position is fully on-site. Relocation benefits are not available. \n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting integration and test activities for mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical assemblies used in various space launch vehicles.\n\nSpecific duties may include: supporting development of processes and procedures for the assembly and test of mechanical/electronic assemblies; reviewing and approving drawings; documenting and dispositioning hardware discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions; supporting required MRB processing; perform inspection of components and assemblies; supporting manufacturing activities with supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations; reviewing design changes on WIP or completed assemblies; analyzing data for trends and recommending changes to improve process and product quality, interfacing with suppliers for auditing and corrective action/continuous improvement related to component assemblies and parts.\n\nThis position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.\n\nBasic Qualifications for Level 2:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree with 2 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree with 0 years of professional experience. \n\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance\n\n * Ideal candidate shall possess related work experience working with mechanical/electrical assemblies, pneumatic systems, structures, and/or tooling. \n\n * Work related experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.\n\n * Proficient at planning /organization, and decision-making skills.\n\n * Ability to travel up to 25%\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Level 3:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree with 5 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree with 3 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 PhD with 1 year of professional experience. \n\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance\n\n * Ideal candidate shall possess related work experience working with mechanical/electrical assemblies, pneumatic systems, structures, and/or tooling. \n\n * Work related experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.\n\n * Proficient at planning /organization, and decision-making skills.\n\n * Ability to travel up to 25%\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Active U.S. Government DoD security clearance of Secret or above\n\n * A demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated issues both technical and procedural.\n\n * Discrepancy Reporting and MRB experience is highly desirable.\n\n * Extensive Root Cause and Problem-Solving experience.\n\n * Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC).\n\n * Experience with quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).\n\n * System integration and range safety experience.\n\n * Experience working with TipQa, MES, and CostPoint software.\n\n\n\n\nWe work a 9/80 schedule (9 hours per day Mon-Thurs, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off)\n\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? Click the link below:\n\nhttps://www.northropgrumman.com/space\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
