Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is hiring a Principal or Sr. Principal Configuration, Design and Integration Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals in Melbourne, Florida.\n\nThe team member will perform Aircraft Configuration Design and Integration activities within an Air Vehicle Integrated Product Team (IPT) working with related disciplines including Airframe Structures, Subsystems, Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Vehicle Performance, Propulsion, Mass Properties, Guidance Navigation \u0026 Control (GNC), and other IPT\u2019s such as Mission Systems, Survivability, Manufacturing, and Product Support.\n\nResponsibilities may include:\n\n * Support configuration and integration trades studies, design maturation, and tracking of changes to the overall air vehicle configuration\n\n * Preparation of Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, such as preliminary design vehicle layouts, general arrangement, master definition geometry, and inboard profile definition for subsystems and payload integration onto military aircraft\n\n * Support vehicle design trade studies in conjunction with multiple team members and stakeholders working to solve complex vehicle design challenges\n\n * Support zone management by participating in frequent design reviews to mature air vehicle physical integration through layout phases leading toward detailed design and release with stakeholder concurrence\n\n * Ensure physical integration layouts are compatible with vehicle environments and constraints (size / fit, weight, power, cooling, loads \u0026 dynamics) while meeting overall performance objectives and mission effectiveness requirements\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\n * Principal: Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of relevant engineering experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 3 years of relevant engineering experience\n\n * Sr. Principal: Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of relevant engineering experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 6 years of relevant engineering experience\n\n * Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.\n\n * Demonstrated proficiency with an industry-standard CAD tool such as Siemens NX or CATIA\n\n * Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)\n\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * BS or MS Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering\n\n * Aircraft Outer Mold Line (OML) loft surfacing experience in a 3-D CAD program\n\n * Experience supporting the design and modeling of advanced air vehicle concepts\n\n * Experience with aircraft design, build, fly project through degree program or within the industry\n\n * Exposure to related Air Vehicle disciplines such as Airframe Structures, Subsystems, Aerodynamics, CFD, Vehicle Performance, Propulsion, Mass Properties, and GNC\n\n * Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with multiple IPT\u2019s and all levels of employees and management\n\n\n\n\n#AS-FA3\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
