Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal OR Sr. Principal Construction Engineer to join our diverse and talented engineering organization in support the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Program.\n\nAs a Construction Engineer on the DARC program you will be part of the team responsible for the design, construction, and commissioning of the DARC radar site(s). Primary scope of the site development project includes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs for the facility supporting the Radar System. Specifically, the site design must address roads, ductbanks, foundations for many large antennas, multiple facilities, large cooling systems, water management, power plant, electrical distribution, BMS/SCADA, and security fencing.\n\nThe successful candidate should have a background as a Construction Engineer, or similar. They should have some broad site development experience with depth in one or more areas of the primary scope, be able to work in a large team environment, and work collaboratively with all Engineering disciplines and Program Management to meet our customer\u2019s needs.\n\nIn this position you will have an opportunity to:\n\n * Derive and allocate site facility and construction requirements\n\n * Support the management of Architecture Engineering \u0026 Construction (AE\u0026C) subcontracts\n\n * Review and redline large drawing packages for 30/60/90% design reviews\n\n * Support earned value and cost management\n\n * Provide schedule inputs\n\n * Brief program leadership on project status and risk management\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\n * Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance, but not required to start.\n\n * Principal: Bachelor\u0027s of Science Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; 3 years with a Master\u0027s; 1 years with a PhD.\n\n * Sr. Principal: Bachelor\u0027s of Science Degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience; 6 years with a Master\u0027s; 4 years with a PhD.\n\n * Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite\n\n * Ability to travel up to 10%\n\n * Experienced with the Architecture and Engineering (A\u0026E) design process\n\n * Experienced with reading, interpreting, and review of A\u0026E drawing packages\n\n * Experienced with site design, development, and construction\n\n * Experienced with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)\n\n * Experienced with reading and applying codes, standards, and regulations\n\n * Technical design experience in at least one primary element of A\u0026E design (e.g., power plant or BESS design, HV/LV power distribution, facility mechanical systems, BMS or SCADA design)\n\n * Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS 25%\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Active Secret clearance\n\n * Technical design experience in more than one primary element of A\u0026E design\n\n * Major subcontract technical management\n\n * Experienced with managing large scale A\u0026E design projects\n\n * Experienced with delivering projects in the United States for the Department of Defense\n\n * Experienced with overseas construction\n\n * Experienced with International Building Code (IBC)\n\n * Experienced with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)\n\n * Experienced with supervising large scale construction projects\n\n * Experienced with proposal development and proposal evaluation\n\n * Experienced with construction cost estimating software (i.e., RSMeans)\n\n * Experienced with value-added engineering and constructability analysis\n\n * Experienced with earned value management and program schedule derivation\n\n * Experienced with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (i.e., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or other)\n\n * Experienced with Building Information Modeling (BIM)\n\n * Experienced with data center design\n\n * Experienced with Radio Frequency (RF) systems such as radars or satellite communications systems\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
