Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a first shift Principal/Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer Level 3/4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Clearfield, UT. This position supports a Monday \u2013 Thursday 4x10 from 6:00am to 4:30pm schedule.\n\n \nThe selected candidate will provide critical support in a high-volume high-mix production environment, working closely with Operations, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Scheduling and Maintenance. Our goal is to minimize downtime on the production line by troubleshooting, problem solving, and proactively identifying areas of concern. Our engineers work to continuously improve their processes, eliminating process variation and waste while building in quality. Join us in the team effort to meet our production goals!\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and implement process improvements as well as support site initiatives.\n * Work closely with manufacturing personnel in the highly automated production of composite aerospace components.\n * Author, modify, and audit shop floor electronic work instructions (EWIs). \nPerform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects.\n * Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implementing improvements and solutions.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nPrincipal Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3):\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 4 year or experience in the following engineering fields; Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters in STEM with 3 years of experience OR PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience.\n * Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.\n * Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance per business needs.\n * Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per business needs.\n\n\n\n \nSr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Level 4):\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 8 year or experience in the following engineering fields; Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters in STEM with 6 years of experience OR PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience.\n * Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.\n * Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance per business needs.\n * Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per business needs.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with composite manufacturing\n\n * Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications\n\n * Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD\u0026T)\n\n * Experience using NX or similar CAD software\n\n * Experience using MES or SAP or similar manufacturing execution systems and ERP systems\n\n * Demonstrated understanding of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques\n\n * Experience using RCCA tools such as Five Why, Pareto, fishbone, etc.\n\n * Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specification\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
