The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers. \n\nJob Description:\n\nNorthrop Grumman is seeking a LabVIEW/TestStand Software Engineer to develop innovative LabVIEW-centric solutions for production test systems supporting our CNI product line. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for:\n\n * Design, development, deployment, and support of LabVIEW programs and test instrumentation throughout all project life cycle phases\n\n * Translation of system requirements, specifications and goal\u2010oriented objectives into system designs\n\n * Interfacing with end users and customers to refine requirements and iterate designs; generation of test plans and documentation to verify compliance to system level requirements\n\n * Production of software documentation to support software release packages\n\n * Time management and flexibility to support multiple programs\n\n * Presentation of assigned work at program technical reviews, proposals, or other technical meetings.\n\n\n\n\nThis position can be filled at the Principal Software Engineer or the SR. Principal Software Engineer depending on years of experience and qualifications.\n\nBasic Qualifications for the Principal Software Engineer:\n\n * Requires a Bachelors degree in STEM with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience; Master\u2019s degree in Engineering with 3 years of experience; or 1 Year with a PhD.\n\n * Proven experience with National Instruments LabVIEW data acquisition systems and programming.\n\n * Experience developing measurement and test routines in the LabVIEW environment.\n\n * Defines development test plans and methods to ensure a robust design is achieved and validates the design against customer, internal and regulatory / government requirements.\n\n * Has strong analytical skills and the ability organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks.\n\n * Is able to communicate clearly and effectively to cross-functional team members. Has strong writing skills and is proficient with Microsoft Office tools.\n\n * Is able to document design and analysis reports as well as test reports.\n\n * Is self-motivated and able to work without close supervision to achieve tasks on time and budget.\n\n * Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Software Engineer:\n\n * A Bachelors degree in STEM with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience; Master\u2019s degree in Engineering with 6 years of experience; or 4 Year with a PhD.\n\n * Proven experience with National Instruments LabVIEW data acquisition systems and programming.\n\n * Experience developing measurement and test routines in the LabVIEW/TestStand environment.\n\n * Defines development test plans and methods to ensure a robust design is achieved and validates the design against customer, internal and regulatory / government requirements.\n\n * Has strong analytical skills and the ability organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks.\n\n * Is able to communicate clearly and effectively to cross-functional team members. Has strong writing skills and is proficient with Microsoft Office tools.\n\n * Is able to document design and analysis reports as well as test reports.\n\n * Is self-motivated and able to work without close supervision to achieve tasks on time and budget.\n\n * Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Skills:\n\n * Applies research to the planning, design, development and testing of LabVIEW algorithms, test environments and systems for use in space and military applications. Is able to develop design solutions to meet difficult performance requirements.\n\n * Possesses strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a development team to understand system level interdependencies and design constraints.\n\n * CLAD, CLD, or CLA LabVIEW Certifications.\n\n * Experience working in a cross functional environment (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, test engineering, production engineering, etc.) to translate customer requirements and functional block diagrams into realized control models. Review and update control system requirements to meet system level performance objectives. Conduct trade studies and identify and present alternate design options.\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
