Position Summary

The Digital Press Operations Manager serves as a key leader in our print production facility, managing relationships with major print technology providers (Canon, Ricoh, HP) and ensuring our digital press operations run efficiently and effectively. This position oversees press uptime, quality standards, output rates, and the integration of new printing technologies to maintain our industry-leading service levels.

You will act as a strategic partner between operations, engineering, and external vendors—focusing on production reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical knowledge, team leadership, and process optimization skills within a digital print environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage overall uptime, throughput, and output quality for digital press      operations.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for vendor support/escalations with Canon, Ricoh, HP, and      others.
  • Lead maintenance planning, equipment optimization, and consumables lifecycle tracking.
  • Conduct performance analysis and report KPIs (uptime, quality, output, waste reduction).
  • Collaborate with engineering and production leadership on short- and long-term strategies.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to address issues and ensure delivery schedules.
  • Research and recommend future print technologies aligned with operational goals.
  • Drive lean manufacturing practices (standard work, 5S, continuous improvement).
  • Oversee a team of  subject matter experts (SMEs), ensuring effective performance management,      coaching, and training.
  • Support capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and vendor evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety protocols.
  • Host and support external customer visits as needed.

Requirements

  

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in digital print production or manufacturing operations.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; strong data analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Print Technology, or related field.
  • Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience with high-volume digital print equipment.
  • OSHA or Safety Management training/certification.
