A premier global law firm is seeking a Private Equity Debt Finance Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing private equity sponsors, private credit funds, banks, institutional lenders, and corporate borrowers in sophisticated leveraged finance transactions.

Ideal Background

• 3–5 years of debt finance, leveraged finance, banking & finance, or corporate finance experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing private equity sponsors, banks, private credit lenders, direct lenders, institutional investors, and corporate borrowers

• Experience handling leveraged buyout financings, acquisition financings, recapitalizations, refinancing transactions, and corporate growth financings

• Experience drafting and negotiating commitment papers, credit agreements, security agreements, collateral documents, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documents

• Experience managing financing transactions from due diligence through closing

• Experience with cash flow lending, secured lending, syndicated finance, unitranche facilities, and revolving and term loan facilities is preferred

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated financing transactions while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
