Private Yoga Instructor

The role of Yoga Instructor is primarily to lead s classes in specialized formats. This Yoga role requires experience using a Yoga Wall, Isawall, or Iyengar Rope Wall system. Yoga Instructors are expected to maintain accurate schedules in the computer-based scheduling system and up to date records of their clients’ progress.

Rate of Pay: 50% commission for Private and Semi-Private session per hour. For private sessions pay is $45 and for semi-private pay is $56.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design individual Yoga programs relevant to the needs of our membership.
• Demonstrate and explain proper form and technique, using proper hands on guidance as prescribed by their Yoga Instructor Training Program.
• Assist members physically when necessary and appropriate.
• Keep online schedule accurate and up to date a minimum of two weeks into the future.
• Take care to register current group class students in the next session as participant’s request
• Clearly communicate and adhere to studio and club policies.
• Check and respond to email before and after every shift.
• Respond to member scheduling requests in a prompt manner.
• Record late cancel and no call/no show with details such as time and how the cancellation was made.
• Ensure that first time students fill out the appropriate paperwork and are aware of studio etiquette and policies.
• Be a well-informed ambassador of programs taking place within the department.
• Have a solid knowledge of other departments within the club.
• Stay current with relevant certifications, including CPR.
• Be aware of and stay within the scope of practice of a Yoga Instructor.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings.
• Attend a minimum of one continuing education workshop per year.

• All other job duties as assigned by management.

• Current Yoga Alliance Approved certification
• Experience using a Yoga Wall, Isawall, or Iyengar Rope Wall system
• A minimum of 1-year teaching experience.
• Strong Knowledge of Essential Contraindications
• Great oral communication skills

• Strong knowledge of working with special populations and ability to modify workouts for special needs
• Ability to adapt and interact with different personality types
