About the Role:

As a PRN Vascular & Ultrasound Technician, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role requires technical expertise, a commitment to patient care, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vascular and general ultrasound procedures based on physician orders and protocols.
  • Operate imaging equipment and ensure proper patient positioning for high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Maintain strict radiation and patient safety procedures.
  • Provide compassionate patient care, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and quality control.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Certified Vascular Technician (RVT) and Certified Ultrasound Technician (RDMS) are required.
  • An associate’s degree or accredited Radiologic Technology program completion is preferred.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and Nebraska licensure are required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Strong communication, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with EHR systems and imaging equipment.

Position Summary:

The Radiological Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires knowledge of radiologic technology, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to provide quality patient care while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Operate imaging equipment and ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Adhere to radiation safety procedures to protect patients, staff, and self.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assist in the maintenance and quality control of imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency imaging needs as required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Assist with inventory management and stocking of radiology supplies.

Physical Demands:

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree or a certificate of completion from an accredited School of Radiology is required.

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Licensure in the state of Nebraska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using imaging equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a hospital setting, including patient care areas, imaging rooms, and emergency departments.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and other occupational hazards; adherence to safety protocols is required.
  • On Call: including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
