Pro Shop Attendant - Seasonal

Starting Rate: $15.00 per hour

Hours:  Various Hours based on the needs of the facility. NIghts and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the General Manager or Assistant Clubhouse Manager, is responsible for booking tee times, answering phones, general upkeep of the pro shop and monitoring playing conditions on the course.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Answering phones in a polite manner and directing to the appropriate department


• Booking tee times over the phone and answering and golf related questions.


• Monitor the pace of play from within the clubhouse and if necessary take measures to enforce the pace of play with the gapers and customers.


• Utilization of the tee sheet;  making sure that tee times are being booked correctly to utilize the course to its fullest capacity while at the same time monitoring the pace of play and taking any correct actions as they may relate to the tee sheet.


• General merchandising of the clubhouse – new displays, restocking, pricing.


• Cleanliness and upkeep of the pro shop


• Good math and cash handling skills


• CPR and First Aid certified-training conducted by the Elk Grove Park District. 


• Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.


• Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent organizational and communication skills required.


• Ability to demonstrate effective decision making and problem solving skills.


• Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.


• Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to at least 2 years experience in a pro shop environment, Must posses a strong understanding of the game of golf including rules, pace of play, and equipment.
