Job Description - Process Engineer II - Office of the CTO

Summary\n\nThe Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining laboratory-scale processes related to semiconductor advanced packaging. This role involves hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support advanced packaging technologies such as wafer-level packaging, flip-chip, and 3D integration.\n\nA background in lithography process engineering is preferred, with hands\u2011on experience in semiconductor lithography to support process development and optimization.\n\nKey responsibilities\n\n * Conduct lab-based experiments to evaluate and improve advanced packaging processes.\n\n\n * Develop, optimize, and sustain photolithography processes for advanced packaging.\n * Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on a variety of difficult process engineering experiments, within safety guidelines.\n * Perform hardware characterization on a variety of difficult systems, within safety guidelines.\n * Troubleshoot a variety of complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues\n * Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations and technical reports\n * Interact with customers to resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues/problems with limited supervision\n * Measure film properties and interpret data\n * Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision\n * Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation\n\n\n\nFunctional Knowledge\n\n * Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines\n\n\n\nBusiness Expertise\n\n * Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market\n\n\n\nLeadership\n\n * Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements\n\n\n\nProblem Solving\n\n * Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information\n\n\n\nImpact\n\n * Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies\n\n\n\nInterpersonal Skills\n\n * Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Hands-on semiconductor packaging and/or semiconductor fabrication experiences in academia and/or industry. \n * Expertise on Lithography, Wet chemical etch/ clean, dry film lamination is preferrable. \n\n\n\nLocation: Santa Clara, CA; on-site full time\n\nSuccessful candidates must be eligible to lawfully receive export-controlled information, without the need for the company to seek a license. Furthermore, since the role entails work on a US government funded project, the successful candidate must also be able to meet the government\u2019s requirements for eligibility to participate in the project, without the need for the company to seek an exception/extraordinary approval.
