The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops, and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. For decades, the dedicated and highly skilled team at ABL have supported national security efforts by developing and building defense systems for DoD customers and U.S. allies. \n\nThis position will we be located on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote opportunities are available for this position. \n\n## The process engineer develops and oversees manufacturing processes based on design requirements. The candidate will develop and maintain detailed work instructions for assigned products/processes, provide suggestions to improve productivity, compile and analyze processing data, investigate manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions, support proposal and development activities and provide day to day support to manufacturing personnel.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\n * ### Coordinates with design engineering on design and manufacturability issues.\n\n * ### Evaluates discrepant hardware.\n\n * ### Researches and evaluates commercially available tools and equipment to support manufacturing processes.\n\n * ### Troubleshoots existing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.\n\n * ### Incorporates engineering changes on work in process\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\n * ### LEVEL 2: Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 2 years of total relevant experience; or Master\u2019s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 0 years of relevant experience.\n\n * ### LEVEL 3: Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 5 years of total relevant experience; or Master\u2019s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.\n\n * ### Be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).\n\n * ### Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing and production processes.\n\n * ### Ability to interpret 2D drawings.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * ### Experience with rocket motor manufacturing or comparable manufacturing processes.\n\n * ### Experience with a variety of systems (i.e. pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic).\n\n * ### Experience with project management.\n\n * ### Demonstrated work ethic and hands-on ability.\n\n * ### Experience with technical writing, writing detailed operating procedures, CAD and GD\u0026T.\n\n * ### Experience using SPC and Six Sigma techniques.\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
