Process Manager (Internal Posting Sauk Village Employees)

This role partners closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to reduce downtime, improve throughput, and strengthen quality and food packaging safety. You will plan and document R&D trials, establish and optimize process conditions for new and existing products, tooling, and equipment, and develop frontline leadership through training and coaching.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies.


• Lead rapid troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving to minimize downtime and stabilize operations.


• Plan, execute, and document R&D/DOE trials; set and optimize forming and process parameters for new and existing products, tooling, and equipment.


• Maintain process documentation and standard work, communicating updates to production teams.


• Train and develop supervisors, lead operators, and employees on new equipment and processes.


• Apply ISO, Continuous Improvement, and SPC methods to daily operations and improvement initiatives.


• Ensure compliance with food packaging safety, GMP, sanitation, chemical control, and food safety programs, escalating issues as needed.


• Partner with vendors and internal teams to support ongoing improvements and operational performance.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• High school diploma required.


• 12+ years of experience in sheet extrusion and thermoforming (including polystyrene, polypropylene, and barrier structures).


• Demonstrated strengths in mechanical aptitude, analytical/problem-solving capability, strong written and verbal communication, and computer proficiency.


• Must be trained in—and consistently follow—policies related to GMP, sanitation, prerequisite programs, chemical control, and food safety.


• Experience with in-mold labeling injection molding, printing, padding and caps and spouts preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Work environment: approximately 50% office / 50% production floor; floor exposure includes heights, temperature extremes, noise, and proximity to operating equipment.


• Physical demands: lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally; walking/standing approximately 4 hours/day; occasional stairs; rare ladder climbing; occasional bending/stooping; very rare kneeling/crawling.


• Coverage: In the Process Manager’s absence, key responsibilities transfer to the Plant Manager
