Job Description - Process Technician III

T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. The Role

T1 Energy Is looking to hire a Process Technician III serves as an advanced technical resource within manufacturing operations, providing high-level troubleshooting, process support, technical leadership, and continuous improvement execution. This role is responsible for driving process stability, supporting cross-functional problem-solving, improving standard work, and helping bridge the gap between floor execution and engineering intent. The Process Technician III is expected to demonstrate advanced process knowledge, strong problem-solving capability, and leadership in technical training and operational improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently diagnose and resolve complex process, equipment, and operational abnormalities with minimal supervision.

  • Monitor and optimize manufacturing process performance to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.

  • Lead or support troubleshooting activities related to defects, downtime, variation, process drift, or equipment instability.

  • Analyze process data, production trends, and recurring failures to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Support engineering teams in process validation, implementation, technical trials, and production readiness activities.

  • Lead or support structured root cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Develop, revise, and standardize work instructions, process documentation, and technical operating standards.

  • Provide technical coaching and mentorship to junior technicians, operators, and production support personnel.

  • Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives including:

    • 5S

    • standardization

    • waste reduction

    • visual management

    • process discipline

  • Assist in identifying process risks and recommending practical solutions to improve safety, quality, and operational flow.

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for shift support and floor issue resolution.

  • Support startup, changeover, process adjustments, and line recovery activities as needed.

  • Maintain high standards of documentation, process compliance, and operational discipline.

  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Who You Are

  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing and foundational Six Sigma principles, including:

    • 5S

    • standard work

    • waste elimination

    • root cause analysis

    • process variation awareness

  • Ability to lead or support continuous improvement projects and technical floor execution.

  • Ability to bridge floor-level issues with engineering and operational expectations.

· Ability to coach and influence others through technical knowledge, process discipline, and standardization.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred.

  • 4–6+ years of experience in manufacturing, process support, industrial operations, or technical production environment preferred.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and process-related systems.

  • Strong ability to interpret process data, identify variation, and support technical decision-making.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Strong communication, leadership presence, and ability to support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
